Slide deck

Skill: pageship-slide-deck

A slide deck is one HTML file that presents from a browser, one slide per screen. Each slide carries one main idea the audience takes in at a glance, and together the slides carry everything the source says.

Your agent picks a slide deck when you ask for slides or a presentation.

  • Slide 1 holds the deck’s title and its main point.
  • One slide per idea. Each slide’s headline states its idea as a sentence, such as “Median first response rose to 3 h 40 min”. A view someone holds keeps their name: “Priya: billing drove most of the slowdown”.
  • A slide of open questions for the gaps in the source.
  • The source’s order. Slides follow the source unless you ask for another order. There is no agenda slide, because the deck’s outline lists the slides.

Each slide shows all its content as soon as it appears. There are no builds, no transitions between slides, and nothing advances by itself. There are no speaker notes or presenter view.

The deck comes with a small slide engine built into the file:

  • The arrow keys, Page Up, Page Down, Space, Home and End move between slides.
  • Previous, Next and Outline buttons, a progress bar and the current position sit in a bar.
  • A link to one slide, such as #slide-3, opens the deck on that slide.
  • At phone width, every slide shows on one scrolling page.
  • Printing gives one 16:9 page per slide.

The agent takes an inventory of the source: every finding, figure, decision, action, owner, date, status, question, gap and hedge. It then maps every item to a slide before it writes any HTML.

Each slide has a budget below its headline. It holds one of these: up to five bullets of at most two lines, a table of up to six rows and four columns, up to four key figures, one diagram or chart, or a quote of up to 30 words.

When the items need more slides than you asked for, the agent adds slides. It never drops, merges away or shortens an item to meet a count. It tells you the number of slides, and why when it differs from your count.

Make a slide deck from the Q3 support report for Friday's team meeting. About ten slides.
